Brazilian hacker RobsonBio 45 has announced he will be releasing tomorrow his first hack of the first Silent Hill game for the playstation called 'Silent Hill Darkness'.

His hacks sometime work on real hardware, sometimes not, only in emulators. We'll have to wait and see.
Also, some of the hacks change more than just infinite lives/energy/ammo/all items, etc and resemble a "light mod", which renews the interest in the game and playing it (all over) again.
Robson has been working on this for quite some time so this could be a world first for Silent Hill.
