iMac G4 Retro Hub

So a while ago I bought this old 17" iMac G4 to tinker with. My main goal was to turn it into a mac-dc server (which I haven't done yet, shame on me ;) ). It has received a few power-ups in the form of an 150G SSD & maxed out ram (2G). So as the completionist that I am, I also tracked down an old Airport Expresscard on ebay & gave my new baby the magic of wifi. I was good to go now...

After doing a clean install of OS X 10.5 (can't go any higher as it is a PPC) I was very surprised to see the thing boot in 43 seconds, I decided to check if I could still use it for anything more than a DC server so I started reading up on emulators & the likes...I used to play around with those things a lot, a long time ago when I still owned a PC and assumed all that stuff didn't exist for old macs...

So after searching the web for about 2 weeks I managed to come up with a bunch of interesting stuff.
At this time I have working emulators (all in fullscreen with full joystick support) for the following devices installed:

-ZX Spectrum (an old love as it was my first home comp in the 80's)
-Sega Msys
-Sega Genesis (no cd support yet)
-NES
-Snes
-PC Engine (with full cd support, burnt a game with SimplyBurns > it works)
-Playstation (cd support, but also loads iso's which imo is the way to go for any emulator)
-MAME

The playstation emulator is said to run only 70% of the games & I read it has some sound issues with certain games, but I'm glad I found a working one so who cares  and I've been dying to play Blood Omen: Legacy Of Kain again (which I tried earlier & worked just fine so I guess that's gonna cost me a few months of my life again).

Also found other (supposedly working) emulators that I'm gonna give a shot in the next few weeks: C64, Amstrad CPC, Amiga, Atari, Wonderswan, NGPC, N64, etc...I really didn't know the PPC scene was this alive.

So in the end I'm actually very happy that I decided to buy the old thing, turned out to be a far better deal better than I expected it to be :D
