So I learnt of a way to glitch into North Granseal (the map at the end of the game) while still at the beginning of the game, and decided to see how it would affect the story. There was quite a bit of trial and error, especially as Galam's north gate remains closed (and so you get softlocked into North Granseal with no way out) - but thankfully I found the solution to these issues.
