Re: PANZER DRAGOON!
PSO doesn't have a concrete end point, so that's not true. You can't possibly see all of the game's content in 3 hours, even though you can F2F in that time.

Re: PANZER DRAGOON!
and so it is with a lot of games, you play em to the "end" and they simply start over a bit harder, back in the day a lot of arcade games had this formula (I can keep playing Thunder Cross over and over again...forever... without dying), but that doesn't mean you haven't finished them, now does it?
it always comes down to a certain point of view eg: you can finish (from the start to the end sequence) FF7 in 40 hours, I spent 200 hours on the game, coz from my pov an rpg is not finished, if you do not own everything, have not maxed out everything and anyone...so which of the 2 is correct?

if by beat you mean easy mode. You can not complete the game in that time. As you know there are tons of quests online and off as well as harder levels.mazonemayu wrote:you can finish PSO in 3 hours offline :p

you must be a horrible player theneverynewday84 wrote:easy mode easily takes at least 7 hours.Gary_b wrote:if by beat you mean easy modemazonemayu wrote:you can finish PSO in 3 hours offline :p
anyway, 3 or even 7 hours are basically the same in any game, let's say (for the sake of argument) it can be completed in 7 hours, that's still something different than "completing" a game in 300 hours (which is exactly what Aleron Ives said) .
my point was simply that the 2 simply can't be compared in the same way you can't compare Streets of Rage with Street Fighter; you have to beat people up in both games, but that's where the similarity ends...Aleron Ives wrote:You can beat PD1 in what, 3 hours? PSO is 10x deeper and 100x longer than PD is, and that's a conservative estimate. PD is a pretty game and a fun game, but it's certainly neither deep nor long.

Perhaps true however irrelevant. The fact is you did not run through all the areas in 3 hours. Not at level 1. Perhaps you leveled up for hundreds of hours and then ran the areas in 3 hours.crazenmayu wrote: you must be a horrible player then
Challenge mode, which runs through all areas, with a full team, will take you 7 hours to get 'S rank.' 3 hours solo? nope

Re: PANZER DRAGOON!
you're still missing the point...you don't finish street fighter in 15 minutes either, you try for hundreds of hours and THEN you complete it in 15 minutes, as it is with most games...

Re: PANZER DRAGOON!
If you want you can try omega boost for ps1, it is a game with mechanics similar to Panzer Dragoon. It 'much more inspired P.D. but Omega is not too bad.

I understand your point. It just doesn't apply to PSO.mazonemayu wrote:you're still missing the point...you don't finish street fighter in 15 minutes either, you try for hundreds of hours and THEN you complete it in 15 minutes, as it is with most games...

Re: PANZER DRAGOON!
It applies to any game imo, unless you're so good at one genre that you finish a new game the very first day.
in my case this happens with most new shmups I buy, but even then the result comes from hundreds (or even thousands) of hours of practice on similar games...
