Is there more people on the PC port of this game or the DC version?

Lately I have contemplated on using emulation over collecting since I am not financially or storage wise able to buy a Dreamcast with games, but I also wanted to check out the Phantasy Star Online private servers to get a online experience, but as I said I am currently unable to get a DC collection, so should I get the PC port?

If you really want to play PSO the PC port is more or less the same as the Dreamcast version. Other people might know the exact differences. But personally, I'd recommend waiting until you can get a Dreamcast and join us on the other games as well

& a quick note, I want to know if I have to download something or if I can still play online on the PSO PC port.

I know there is a patch you need to use sylverant servers. The info is probably on psopalace

Honestly most likely i would not played PSO ever if there are no DC version...
