Re: Help me connect with DreamPi
When you are logged in, run:
sudo tail -f /var/log/syslog
Then try connecting, it'll show scrolling output. hit CTRL+C to cancel. Send a picture when it disconnects and I'll try to figure it out..

Re: Help me connect with DreamPi
Oh well, I got the pi up and running but... It was too good to be this easy
It seems the modem will not answer the call. Maybe it's not installed properly.
Yep... any ideas?
This is the log:
I connected and disconnected the modem to see if it recognized it properly. The modem is USB HSF Modem , Conexant systems.

I'm hoping I do not run into any of these snags when I set mine up in a few days

Re: Help me connect with DreamPi
@neoblast it's possible that that particular model doesn't have drivers built into the Linux kernel. Could you try running the following command?
sudo wvdialconf /dev/null
And let me know what the output says?

Re: Help me connect with DreamPi
I had to make and compile them because they are not included in the kernel, yep ( That's how I got it for my dc-pc). So how do we make it work in this case?
The output is the following one:
No modem was detected.
Perhaps Adding it with set serial would work?

Re: Help me connect with DreamPi
I just had a quick search and it's not looking promising. Apparently the modem you have is a softmodem which although has Linux drivers, doesn't have ones for ARM, only x86.
Buying another modem might be the only option

Re: Help me connect with DreamPi
I know my modem is a Conexant USB DGC modem. Do you know off hand if i'll have any issues? Still waiting for the capacitors/resistors and the 9v battery clipskazade wrote:I just had a quick search and it's not looking promising.
