I have been using OSSC + Mclassic on my Flatscreen downstairs and dreamcast games look great with passthrough scanline multiplication mode 6% s 3d games 12% 2d games.
You read a lot of stuff online about hd crts & lag because they do all kinds of digital processing, I’ve never used one, but it may be worth reading up upon before you buy.
That is what I thought I was doing a lot of reading some people say its great others not so much first time hearing about lag.

I’m just gonna guess here, but I suppose if you connect a console that natively does hdmi like a 360 or ps3 to it, it’ll run just fine because that’s what those crts are made for, but if you connect older consoles to it, it’ll do the digital processing thing & induce lag. At least that’s what I think. I also read they have no scanlines, which may also be something you need to look into if that is your thing.

I have a 360 connected to a 100hz widescreen crt via rgb (hd crts were rare here in europe) and that doesn’t have scanlines either (well actually it does, but since the refresh rate is so hogh, you just can’t see em with the naked eye), and I think that looks amazing. It looks a bit like a plasma but with the colours & motion clarity of a crt. I’m guessing a hd crt will have the same effect, it’ll just support higher resolutions like 720p.
