So basically, typing in the Toy Racer server IP into that field is pointless?

I do not get the option in-game to enter the IP. Its just stuck on "dialling".

Could be the router port issue. Ill test that later today.

You're using a GD-ROM with a BBA to connect, right? If the people using CDI are the only ones getting the connection prompt, it's possible that the CDI is either hacked to enable that or that the CDI was built from a different version of the game than the one you have. I might be able to make a CB code to allow you to force the game to connect to the private server, but someone would have to post the game's 1ST_READ.BIN for me to do that. It's probably better to get someone to write a real patch that will also allow modem users to connect.

My bad I'll rewrite the original post. I actually haven't had time to connect and don't own a real copy. It seemed like some had the IP prompt when connecting and others didn't get that. Very odd... Aleron could be right about the .cdi version being modded to include an IP prompt at connection.

I use original GD-ROM and the .cdi is not hacked in any way to allow to enter custom ip - this is the way the game was programmed.

People not getting the prompt and get stuck a dialing, something else is wrong - probably router/ports-issue or isp settings.

Will be online for educational purposes, for now.

As this is a PAL game, I have a US dreamcast, will it work if I try to play it?
