It started out as a sequel in the beginning, and then we were ordered to replace all of the content. What you are seeing is the remnants of the codebase that we developed to emulate Blood's gameplay.
Further media should distance it to the point of being unrecognizable, save for the few elements that we kept (tommygun, axe zombies, etc).
WOW! Who knew that a modified version of the Doom engine could look so nice? I know that people have gotten really modern features running in ports of the engine, just the polygons they can get running on the Dreamcast is really great. This has been my most anticipated game for the DC since 09 when I first found out about it.
I did actually beta test their PC build of the game years ago, back when it was still heavily inspired by blood. It was great but back then it was mostly still 2d sprites. Pretty amazing to see how far they have come.
DC Junkyard composed an interview for me that talks, in detail, about why Hypertension was delayed, our problems with Atari (and this also extended to the Dream in the Dark port I was working on), and some other interesting bits of news. I talk a little about TAHI, our 3D engine, and some other stuff that I hope comes across as interesting.
Also, pre-orders soon, tiers will be revealed in the coming weeks.
Would it be possible to give us the choice between health meter in numbers and the throbbing heart? Call me a pussy, but the throbbing heart in the last clip I saw made me go pale. And I would really like to be able to play this game without going pale, getting black spots in front of my eyes, and have my stomach protest... lol
That was a great and very personal interview! Was also cool to hear about and TAHI! We were really invested in TAHI here hahah. As evidenced by the old million page long thread... :/
Corbyn, thank you for all your hard work in the scene and for keeping us updated
