VMU says defective?

Soo I have like 5 vmu that all say they can't save because vmu is defective. I played multiple games like DOA 2, Tokyo Extreme Racer 2 and Rayman 2 and the save fails but on Sonic adventure it saved perfectly fine. Do they not like sequels? What gives? I put fresh batteries in one and it worked for a day and then back to the same old. Help me !! Please and thanks in advance :D

Have you tried formatting the VMU yet?

Since it's happening with multiple VMUs, I'd say the problem lies with either the controller or the controller port. Try saving with the controller plugged into a different port. If that doesn't work, try another controller altogether.

Didn't work. I tried both methods and all 4 ports. Save failed or vmu defective message

Nope. Feel like the Damn console might be defective too
