I have a C.H.I.P. and it is horrible. The video doesn't work and customer service takes about 100 years to respond to anything. I was a Backer and it turned out to be an aggressive waste of peoples time. Also, It has on-board memory so an SD card cannot be inserted.
Omega looks like another C.H.I.P. scam to get people to buy the add-ons needed to even make it usable. These are both first glance opinions, I will look more into them when I have the time but for their price its not looking worth it.
I am currently looking at:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Device:==============Price Aprx======== On-board features:
Raspberry Pi Zero ====== $11.00 ========= HDMI
NanoPi NEO =========== $ 9.25 ========= Ethernet
OrangePi Zero ========= $ 9.00 ========= Ethernet, WiFi
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
I already got the Raspberry Pi Dream Adapter running on Ethernet and WiFi. I will have an update on here soon about that with some pretty pictures. I just finished it last night. I soldered Wifi onto the board to save USB space. It runs great.
Getting Dreampi working with the NanoPi NEO and OrangePi Zero will be my priority as soon as I get them in the mail. It would be cool if dreampi runs on those without additional work done to the Dreampi program, since I no nothing about programming...
