Radio Shack Mobile Data Connector
(430-0154)

This device might allow dial up connection over digital phone lines.
It claims to do just that.
I think it might have a voltage line simulator, signal amp, and multiple filters to choose from.
It might be worth a try?

yes, i think it will work out of the box.
some setups will need the appropriate filter to be selected.
i think the filter is simply a signal amplifier?
there are 4 filters to choose from.

I used to have a vonage adapter that I tried to get to work but even if I could get it to connect, the connection was so unstable that it would drop. Voip usually uses lossy compression which makes it hard enough to send a fax. I wonder if there is a way to use them as a custom line simulator though.
