I picked up a copy of this game today as I read a piece about it at Dreamcast Junkyard. Released in Europe only it seems. Seems the online game ran on Gameloftservers; here's a picture of the online lobby I found (taken 2002/2003):
Seems there was also a Dreamcast clan who regularly raced on this game:

And look...it seems the Gameloft staff were not even aware this game was released and online was only activated in 2002!!!!

Makes me wonder who has the source code for the networking then (Sega I assume?).

Ubisoft seemed to use Gameloft servers for their online titles (Speed Devils Online, POD, Racing Simulation 2). When you go to the "Network" part of their games there is no mention of Dreamarena/Dreamkey/Seganet so Sega probably had minimal to no involvement.

Very cool to see what the lobby looked like. I can't believe they didn't know their own game got released? wtf lol

It seems like Ubisoft just put the game out there unannounced and failed to tell Gameloft. Once the Dreamcast had been discontinued, a lot of crazy things happened. For example, my local GAME store completely ignored the "street release" date of Shenmue 2 and just put the game on the shelf. Bought the game 2/3 days early!

I bought Monaco Racing Simulator 1 the other day and its a great game. Really hope we can play number 2 online someday as its a great game.
