Looking back to John Romero's developments from ID software and later (Quake's engines, Doom's engines, etc) I found that two of Eidos developments at the time of DC release very interesting, maybe you already know, Deus Ex (1999) and Thief: the dark project/Thief Gold (1998) which uses Dark engine later released for Xbox, this last one has had good fan made improvements in compatibility these years...

This is from way back but was there ever anything shared from this Katana Dev kit? Loved the first two Thief games - not going to mention the third :p

Apparently Dark engine's SC was leaked 2 years ago, but anyway you believe it would have some use for DC ? System shock 2 was leaked too but the game is there half-way developed in DC, just boots and play 1st stage only.

Dark Engine's SC leaked: https://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread. ... 77cb5b1698
It also was created an "Open Dark engine" as an effort to build a multiplatform engine supporting the Looking Glass' data files from the original DarkEngine(TM) games: https://github.com/volca02/openDarkEngine
