Seaman turns 15!

2000. It was a big year. Billions were gearing up for the new millennium, the Homestar Runner website launched, and the second PlayStation, XBox, and the Dolphin were coming shortly.

And, of course, we musn't forget about Seaman, probably one of the strangest...er, experiences ever created.

Happy Birthday, Seaman!

I have yet to experience this...gem, so what do you think of Seaman? 'Cuz, just...wow. It's amazing.

I played some weird shit in my day. Seaman is the creme of the crop though. I've only ever had the patience to keep him going for more than a few weeks once though. Of all the games I have though this is high up on the list.
Currently sucking at: The Legend Of Zelda: Skyward Sword, Road Rash II and Pirates! Gold

You really should do one. And if you are, (this is optional) do it like IGN did:

http://www.ign.com/articles/2000/08/09/seaman

I'll try and get a copy soon.

I had a friend do the day forward cheat for an entire weekend. Our minds were blown by the tech behind this. We started gaming with the NES so we always went for stuff that pushed the envelope. I thought we invented the day forward thing. We didn't have the interwebz so shit like that wasn't common knowledge. I don't even remember what made him think of it. I can't even express our amazement with this game. one minute we were on Earth, the next we were in outer flipping space! The idea that the machine knew the time and made a fish thing talk to me was beyond revolutionary. I honestly always loved the way Sega sorta defined new paradigms in gaming. With Sonic and Nights and the CD and the VMU and the rebirth of Sonic and the EPIC arcade machines that were magically on my TV and then later on my PC monitor through VGA. That talking fish thing though really honestly blew my feeble mind. It's kinda depressing to see what is pumped out now by comparison. The same Madden ever year, another COD, metric tons of shit with Sonic The Hedgehog written all over it. After the FMV video game craze came and went, Seaman proved we would get better experiences for out hard earned money. This is what I was thinking about when I was reading the WTF thread with the hipster retro gaming crowd. Maybe some of these folks are tired of playing shitty half finished games.
