Great news, a true Christmas gift.
As for contacting SEGA, it was a bad idea (as in, what kind of response would he expect? It could only be negative or nonexistent as it turned out), but happy to see that he got it released without fuss from SEGA (well, at least for the moment).
SEGA bothered to take down Streets of Rage Remake v5 which was a fan-made remake that didn't use a line of code from any of the SEGA's game, so let's see what we can expect from SEGA concerning this beta release.

I made cover artwork with MS paint yesterday, I do not own anything else to do a better job, sorry. I am looking forward to better covers than mine.
