Has anyone tried this trick with PSO ver 2 before?

Always find a rare weapon

Create a room called psoallstars.

I'm assuming this means if you name your game online psoallstars you will find rare weapons but has anyone tried this? I was hunting around for info on how to get the dressing room to open for me again when I stumbled on a page of non xploder cheats and tips including this one.

My Hucast is now lvl 33 and I'm over half way through playing Hard Offline, found only 1 rare so far but I'm not too worried and am enjoying the legit lifestyle again lol, anyone tried the code/tip above though?

lol ok I did think so, its a shame there's no way to comment on those sites so that people who have tried the tip can say whether it worked or not, I just thought it was interesting... nevermind I might try it sometime but also am highly doubtful that it will actually work

The whole "psoallstars" thing is completely and totally false. You will not find more rares by using that as your team name. That's all I have to say.

Drops are normally handled exclusively by the team leader. The server generally keeps away from drops, because it would be an absolute horror to do a full drop system in the server at the moment. It will need to be done if I'm ever to support Blue Burst, but for the time being, I only have a bit of testing code I've been playing with.

I'm never going to make "psoallstars" make it drop lots of rares. That'd be stupid IMO, and I like to be fair. ;)

You would not believe how many people actually named the team that back in the day. I knew it didn't work because it never had any actual apparent effect on the items found. Not to mention it made no logical sense to me that Sonic Team would have incorporated such a simple code, and entirely in lower case English without spacing no less.

Even today some ppl still use it. But in the end it's just a name.

Well, as was already stated, if the server were to handle drops, sure it'd be possible. However, as far as I can tell the only two things that affect drops at all on the client are the random seed given by the server and the class of the team's creator.

Once again, if the server were to do all the work (which it does have to do for Blue Burst, btw), it could be possible to implement such easter eggs as "psoallstars" doing something.
