dude, honestly I think we still have to wait at least a year for the game as the trailer should only be up this month. its not like its a 2D game & all ;)

This seems AWFULLY fishy... Seems like a topic I could make. Actually, why don't I try this?

INSANITY: A BRAND-NEW 2D FIGHTER FOR SEGA DREAMCAST
Hello, my name is stampfaceDC, I am addressing you with my DC-Talk name so I can hide my real name from all the slander that's inevitablely going to produce from this fiasco.
Insanity is a new 2D fighter for Dreamcast. Why did I pick Dreamcast? For my answer, I'm going to spout some artsy bullshit that will not make sense to anyone else besides me. Oh, and my crew of "people" that I have "working" on this "game".
The reason why this game is so significant is because it is running on a completely new, from-scratch engine that I codenamed "Broken Promises". Basically, the graphics it will be able to put out will make Guilty Gear X look like a dead raccoon. A FUCKING DEAD RACCOON.
The gameplay, well that plays like Third Strike mixed with MVC2 with a touch of Project Justice... WHO REALLY CARES?! I'm acting like this is gonna to be a tangible product that's on a GD-ROM. Oh, and did I mention this supposed "game" made Sega give two cocksucks about something other than ports of their old games?! WONDERFUL!
Alas, I'm only in high school, and so this project will be completely up in the air for three years. All the while, I'll be giving lectures in tight pants about things that don't matter to the general game-playing public, and also teasing a bunch of ideas that are utter bullshit and have no chance of ever materializing. I'll occasionally give out email updates that talk about how hard we're working to anyone who bothers me enough for one, as I spend my day just bullshittin' around doing nothing. Oh, I'll finally release a video running on an emulator instead of real hardware like people have been saying I should, and I'll also make a Kickstarter that'll have people paying me more money so I can give them crap that they'll sell off on Ebay, and I probably won't reach my goal unless I turn into either Tim Scahfer or that chick from Veronica Mars. If I don't reach my goal, every cent you pledged to me just goes off in the wind, never to be seen again.

AIN'T I A STINKER?

no sir, actually you're a troll.

this is how it often happens in the indie scene; it's not like they have sony or nintendo's financial power behind them. it's usually 1 or 2 guys who do it in their spare time; after all Sturmwind did also take 6 years to come out & we didn't see any of it in the first 4 years, so how's this different?

also it's not because some guy runs away with kickstarter every now & then, it's always like that...

Um... I completely understand the indie scene. I just really wanted to parody this, as even if it turns out to be a real game, the whole three years before a test video thing was kinda ridiculous. So please take the troll comment back.

Reticon has been very transparent with their whole development process and I think that's why people expect much more progress... we usually know a lot about what's going on behind the scenes. Like Mazone said, other developers have also taken years to produce a trailer or real game footage, etc.

From the Reticon Facebook: "Reticon just received their Professional IGDA (International Game Developer's Association) membership and information! The Ragtag Reticons are moving along!" That sounds promising...

Their latest updates appear to be in May.
