OPINION: List what the must have Genesis games

Wikipedia says the Sega Genesis library has a total of 713 games. Nowadays with storage not being a problem and emulation you can have the entire library. But lets say you didn't want all those sports titles and educational stuff. Lets list what the essential no BS library of genesis games should be. Doesn't matter the region either. I'll start. You can add onto mine or create your own.

good choices. Thunderforce series was good. I liked the r-type series too but I don't remember them being on genesis.

if you like action/rpg is really good, Alundra (ps1) or Zelda style (more Alundra)

also, i don't know if this fit in your request, but a couple of titles caming from Amiga world are imo great too

Viewpoint, Mortal Kombat series, Street Fighter 2 series, Marble Madness and Road Blasters are all pretty solid on the Genesis if you don't want to play the arcade roms or ports that were done later to more advanced systems.

I know of mega turrican and stormlord. those are good.
didn't intentionally forget thunderforce. I love schmups. lol
man there are so many marvel beat em ups on genesis its crazy.
Captain america and the avengers. X-men games. Spider-man games.
