Modern Warfare 3; your first impressions?

So its finally here. I got mine last week and am now level 32 online atm and haven't played the campaign so I can't give a full verdict but so far I'm not sure its better than any of the others yet. It is kinda irritating me so far. I like it but for the time being its just pissing me off lol. Maybe because theres soo many people online and the competition is getting tighter

anyone else playing it yet? So far I'm using the SCAR and UMP, havent learnt the maps at all yet lol, be interested to hear what others think.

cheers

I was actually impressed with the game!
Its hard when you have to deal with new maps though!

What i did not like in the game was the weapon and accesories part!
I like it better when you had to buy the stuff! The menus and config function was allso much easier in black ops!

The gameplay itself is much better in MW3, better effects and more viariation in the carepacks!
In blackopps then it was kinda predictible where the package was landing (by watching the planes).
The choppers in B.O. had very strange A.I.... you could predict where it was going to shoot, when you could run and when to aim at it with the Rocket launcher!

We should have gathered some people from the forum and played a couple of rounds:)
feel free to add feeeelix88 on XBL:)

nice comments bud, pretty comprehensive!

I so far am really enjoying the game in general allthough I totally agree regarding having trouble adjusting to the new maps. I find them to be far bigger than either previous game, don't you? I think they did this and laid them out in the way they have so as to try and limit the abillity to camp vigorously!!

The xp system is odd your right, I'm not sure yet if I prefer Black Ops money spending way of doing it or the levelling up way of MW2/3, I think you just get used to them.

If anyone else has this on here do let me/us know I'd be up for a game sometime!

I find it... Yet another cod. Campaign is super elite beloved USA soldiers against the super bad russian forces. No comments.

And the MP, which is the thing that everybody cares about (even me), is more of the same. Except, maps are more suited to SMG than any other kind of weapons.

Yet, that doesnt stop people from camping below a staircase, or to quickscope, or boost with a friend on FFA...

And the connection quality is just... A video is worthy a billion words:

Yeah thats me, honestly.. IDK how the guy didnt rage quit straightaway. This is commando pro from MW2 all over again... But this time, 180°.

Heres a few full games of mine:

so far I love modern warfare 3, I think its a vast improvement on 2 and Black Ops, I went back on mw2 the other day and it was horrid, the controls are sluggish and inaccurate and the maps are too wide and open, I love the new game and the Assault rifles available such as the G36c, the ACR, the SCAR, the AK47 etc, I do like the P90 and the UMP45. Have a look at my youtube channel for my vids from multiplayer on 360, I Rarely encounter connection problems. My only complaints with Modern Warfare are, as ever, the lack of originality/depth in the Campaign and the incredibly short play time. and no co-op

Thats because i assume you live in the US (im in europe).
And idk why.. But even if i play with 5 other players from my region (and we all have decent connections), the host is picked in the US.

Im not saying this is the best connection ever. Yet it should be more than enough for a cod game.

And thats something else... Why the **** doesnt cod have dedicated servers? Dont tell me they dont make enough money selling millions of 70 bucks games a year, plus the rip offs dlcs.

cod doesnt like europe i guess.

You hear me complaining a lot about cod, yet, i have to admit, they manage to make every year a fun and addicting game.

But i insist, technically speaking, im "against" cod. Because of the way they recycle the same game every year (do you know the engine theyre using is the very same from COD4? Barely slight improvements have been made. Mainly, for better graphics and thats pretty much it), the price, the dlc, etc...

I agree with you about the servers etc, its not like they don't make enough money, I am in the UK and normally my connection is perfectly fine, its only on the rare occassion when we loose the host or the match runs a little slow.

I agree in principal about being against how they make the cod games but honestly there isn't a lot I can do about it so I just enjoy them for what they are
